High-quality veterinary medicine for your beloved family members.

From wellness exams to surgery, the Brandywine Valley Veterinary Hospital veterinarians and staff are here for you when you need us most. We’ll be with you throughout every stage of your pet’s life.

Wellness Exams

Wellness exams refer to physical exams that assess the general health of our pets. By detecting problems early, we are much more likely to be able to intervene in a disease process before the changes to the body are irreversible. In addition to the physical exam, we often will use laboratory test to further understand how your pet is doing. Our in house laboratory allows us to have the results of most tests the same day we see your pet. Other preventative procedures that are frequently associated with wellness exams include fecal exams and heartworm testing. These tests detect the presence of parasites within our furry friends that may be diminishing their quality of life.

We’ll also be sure to get your pet on a lifelong vaccine schedule that will keep them protected from disease and viruses. Dogs and cate have different vaccination needs. Many of the diseases that can affect dogs and cats are preventable through proper pet vaccinations. Our doctors determine which vaccinations are right for your pet based on their experience and knowledge, as well as your pet’s individual needs, life-stage, and lifestyle.

X-Rays
There have been many advancements in digital x-ray technology, and we can now manipulate the digital images that we take. This allows us to diagnose issues that may not be seen on a traditional x-ray. Because the x-rays are digital, we can also easily share the images with specialists or other veterinarians we may consult for more difficult cases.
Surgery

Our team is highly skilled and experienced in performing a wide variety of pet surgeries using modern techniques, cutting edge equipment and always adhering to the strictest standards of safety and care. You can feel confident that when it comes to surgery, your loved one will be in excellent hands with our team!

We also offer spaying or neutering procedures, which are essential in controlling the pet population as well as reducing unwanted behaviors. There are also many health benefits that come from this procedure and will help ensure that your pet lives a long, healthy life.

Urgent Care

Emergencies happen—no one can predict or plan for them. If something emergent happens with your pet during business hours, they are a priority. Critically ill or injured patients will be seen immediately as time and staffing allow—we will advise you at the time of a phone call whether we will be able to see your pet. Please call us at 610-384-0731.

The Brandywine Valley Veterinary Team is excited to have Cathy Moyer join us in making BVVH your one-stop shop! Cathy has been grooming dogs for 15+ years, and she makes your goal for your pet her goal for your pet. Give us a call today to have your pet scheduled for its next spa day!
Dentistry
According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease? Don’t let your pets become part of this statistic!

Just as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health. Signs of dental disease include bad breath, loose, broken or missing teeth, yellow or brown teeth, red, inflamed or bleeding gums, difficulty or pain when chewing, pawing at the mouth, and excessive drooling. If you notice any of these symptoms, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to help.

Diagnostics
It is difficult to see your pet in pain or suffering and not know what’s wrong. Our team provides state of the art in house diagnostics to help us learn what’s wrong and provide an accurate diagnosis. A quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment! We do diagnostic testing both in-house and with an outside lab so we can provide results quickly and accurately.

We are committed to providing accurate and timely lab results for the benefit of your pet thanks to our extensive in-house laboratory capabilities. By testing in-house, we ensure both faster and more accurate results. Our in-house laboratory processes bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal testing.

Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that is used to promote tissue repair and to relieve pain and inflammation. The therapeutic or cold laser emits low-level light that penetrates tissues and produces biochemical reactions within the cells. These reactions promote cell regeneration and healing and can decrease inflammation and pain. Laser therapy is used for a variety of conditions including post-operative pain management and healing; chronic wounds; traumatic injuries; sprains and strains; arthritis; and others.
